Ways to market your business*

I decided to break this information down into 3 parts because I have a long list. So be sure to check out the next 2 parts as well.

Word of Mouth

This method is very old school. It is a simple way of marketing but has proved to be really effective. All you have to do is talk to family, co-workers and friends about your new site or blog and you’re basically done. Follow up with them and answer any questions they may have. Make sure you keep business cards on hand. You can give them out to anyone you come across when you’re out and about. This is the oldest way and believe me it still works today!

This method can be debated but it’s all about exposure. The more you have the more generating you will do. Once you generate your leads, do not forget to follow-up. You can use an autoresponder system. The one I recommend is Aweber. It is fast and easy to set up.

Flyers

This is always a good and cheap way to get your message out. It is also an old method but has been proven to be efficient. Get a few responsible neighborhood kids or college students to help. You may also be able to give flyers to your local newspaper agent to pass out. It is alright to hand write your messages but make sure they are neat and personable. If you would like to, you can even  add a picture.

Video Marketing

This method is very popular. It beats live presentations hands down! You can show off your personality while giving the people what they want. Have some fun with it. This is a great way to start branding yourself and get your name out there. Say and display your website address so that the people interested can contact you. Remember, your website should provide value and useful information for the specific audience you are targeting.

Article, Classified and Business Directory Marketing

Writing and posting good article content is a great way to get traffic and backlinks. Business directory listings will get you backlinks but getting traffic can be competitive. You can narrow down your competition by doing a Google search. Classified ads can be free and you can reach large audiences. Post regularly and you will build a traffic base.
