Making It Through Business Obstacles and Setbacks

[pullquote align=”left|center|right” textalign=”left|center|right” width=”30%”][/pullquote]It is true every small business owner will encounter obstacles and setbacks. Learning how to remain confident and calm during these difficult times is vital for any successful business owner.

Many setbacks may arise while running a business such as customers canceling orders, low funding, spouses & family members are not supportive and much more. It happens all the time.

The majority of people, when they first encounter a setback, tend to give up, throw in the towel and QUIT. Some may even shed a few tears. That is not the answer. It may be hard to do, but just stay put.

In order to overcome any obstacle, one must have a belief that they can get through this burdensome time. This is the first key to getting through any situation. A setback helps in moving forward and is only a learning curve that has a remedy attached at the end.

The next step is to remain calm as possible and keep a positive attitude at all times. How? Reading a good motivational book or listening to an inspirational tape helps.

Another great way to overcome an obstacle is to take some time off. Take a relaxing walk or drive. Go see a movie or simply take a nice long nap. Getting your mind off your worries, if only for a few hours, allows a refreshing come back. Problems can be attacked and solved more efficiently.

A small business owner should remember that dreams and goals can be lost quickly. T.V., family, friends and others can sometimes suck one back into mediocrity. Obstacles and setbacks can ruin emotions and daily routines. They also force us to evaluate what will work and what won’t in running daily business activities.

Be sure to make yourself a schedule and stick to it. Write down what you are to do everyday. You can start small. Start with a daily plan. Increase it weekly until you are scheduling your tasks on a monthly basis.

Get yourself a calendar to mark important dates and tasks. Place the calendar on a wall or somewhere where you will be sure to see it daily. Make a check list and check items off that are completed for the day. Be sure to take notes if needed.

In conclusion, every single entrepreneur or business will encounter, at some point or another, obstacles and setbacks along the way. Learn and look at it from different angles and move forward. Take time off if needed to re-charge emotions and make better business decisions.

How To Start An Ezine

If you think about it, Ezines are really wonderful marketing tools that you can use for your business. You may use them to promote programs or products and even services or other websites. Some people even make extra cash by publishing an ezine and getting money from people who advertise on their ezine. As your ezine experiences growth, you may also need to get upgrades in your services so that you can get more features added to your publication and so your subscribers get a better experience with your ezine.

But when you are just starting out with your ezines, there are good free ezine services that you can try out. If you want to make an ezine of your own, then there are some steps that you may want to try out at first. One thing you can try is to compare the free ezines that are out there. Take note of things like how many subscribers they have and also how many are allowed. Then look at how the process of subscribing is done and also check if you can get an upgrade on your service later on. Take notes on whether you are able to export your list to other services in the event that you feel dissatisfied with the service that you get.

Starting your own ezine could be tricky if you fail to do any research beforehand. You can easily fail to start an ezine of your own if you fail to check out the necessary steps to make sure that your attempt at starting an ezine do not crash and burn. Another thing that you can do is to sign up with a provider that provides ezine services so that you do not have to make a commitment that involves money right away. Once you have signed up, you can get started on your first issue. It is but normal to not have any subscribers at first but it is important to have an issue in your archives at least. This is because there are people who want to check out what your ezine has to say before they subscribe to you.

When you have your ezine, you can choose to write your own content or you can choose to get your content from other places. You can get contributors or you can get free articles from various article directories so that you do not have to spend money. Publishing ezines can be a lot of fun but they are also a lot of hard work. If you plan to use your ezine to make some money then you will want a lot of subscribers so that advertisers will deem it worthwhile to get ad space from you. Dan McG.

Why aren’t people buying?

Why aren't people buying?
Why aren’t people buying?

You have a killer product. For the previous few years, you’ve made good money with it. Maybe you’ve made hundreds to a few thousands per month but now, very few are buying.

If your sales have slowed up or even halted, there’s a good reason for it. Not many people will even realize why it’s happening. You may think that someone found a better deal or that they just don’t have the money at the time. This is so far from the truth. Only a measly ten percent will fall into this category.

Well, what about the ninety percent? What’s going on with them?

The truth is…

People are skeptical and skepticism brings fear.

Yes, that’s right. They are afraid to buy. Trust has fallen at an all time low.

Let me give you an example..

Recently, I received a call from a gentleman. He left a voicemail message on my answering service. He said he had run into one of my ads and had a few questions to ask me. I returned his call, ready to assist him with his questions. What I got was a “salesman” wanting me to join his company! He had no interest in my ad and never mentioned it. As you can guess, I had no interest in what he was selling. I quickly, but nicely got off the phone with this man.

I don’t know him, and I will never get the chance to establish a relationship to find out who he really is. He pitched his opportunity as if he was at a baseball game.

Don’t do this…

It’s aggressive people like this that increases skepticism’s for the ninety percent mentioned above. Some people immediately exert negative aggression just to sell a product. They forget or don’t care to apply positive aggressions. Helping a team, blogging about closing tactics or how to talk to prospects is a good example of exerting positive aggression.

Skepticism is at an all time high. Let me explain how you can relieve some, if not all of the skepticism from a potential buyer.

You must build real relationships with people. Find out where they live, work, family life and what they like to do in their spare time. Relate and add value to everyone you meet. It may be hard to hold back on offering your opportunity, but it is crucial to build lasting and trustworthy relationships. It may seem like you’re taking the long route, but you will start attracting people to you just because they like you.

They see the good in you and that you really care about their family and their lives. Honestly, isn’t it nice to have friends? Isn’t is nice to have people around that genuinely care about you and vice-versa?

While building relationships, you must show people you are trustworthy. If you’re setting up a meeting, show up 10 to 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled meeting. You must always be honest. Do not exaggerate your earnings or your position. People are so use to getting the run-a-round.

If you just started in your business, let them know. If you have not made any money, tell your prospect you have not made any money yet, but you plan on making X amount within the next 12 months… Find out if they are open for the two of you to grow together, and take it from there. Let people know the truth and they will respect and appreciate your integrity that much more. Remember, all of this is after you have established a relationship with them.

In conclusion, be genuine when meeting people. Be generous in helping them; not financially, but in solving their problems. See what it is they are seeking and do your best to offer them your skills. Don’t limit yourself by trying to pitch your business opportunity right off the bat. There are many more ways to properly advertise. This world is filled with so many interesting people. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to get to know them.

MLM And Your Mindset

[pullquote align=”left|center|right” textalign=”left|center|right” width=”30%”][/pullquote]MLM or Multi Level Marketing is a great opportunity. It is simply defined as a group of people who are connected by a unified system, which offers products and services that help others in their businesses. These products range from personal coaching, training videos, seminars and much more. If you are armed with the right knowledge and skills, you can go far in this business.

Honestly, 97 percent of people fail in this business. The 3 percent averages out to be about 210,000,000 people worldwide. Are you in the 3% percentile? You should be. If you want to be included in the number of people above, we will do our darndest to get you there.

There is product and training systems, compensation plans and the list goes on. Let’s face it, all of this is important but without the right attitude, these tools are useless. If you do not have the right mindset, you will not be able to build any business. It makes sense for those who are new to building an MLM business to focus on this all-important aspect.

I have a few pointers that will help get you started,  beginning with the right mindset. First, do your homework. Seek out an MLM community and Mentor that will truly focus on You, your goals and positively transforming your total mindset. This industry has lots of genuine leaders. Feel free to contact me for more information. Also, there is a great book out by Noah Saint John called:

The Secret Code of Success. If you haven’t read it, I suggest you take time to pick up a copy. It’s an excellent read and an asset to your library.

I want you to take heart to the four primary key elements listed below. They will assist you in developing the right attitude that can lead you to success:

Know and Understand Your Purpose (Your Why)

There are many people who join an MLM business because they enjoy challenges and helping others. Others join for the potential to achieve financial freedom in their personal lives. Purposes may be different, but everyone has an aim behind joining an MLM. It is this purpose that motivates people to keep doing the work that needs to be done in their business. People always keep their purposes at the forefront of their minds which motivates them to work even harder.

Learn How To Be Open

If you are not open and ready to learn things from others, chances are you may fail in the MLM business. It is wise to learn from those who have been where you want to be. Seek out those who have succeeded in business and ask them how you can make yours work. Listen and follow through on their advice. If something is not working for you, contact them again and discuss the issue.

Stay Positive

In order to achieve success, you must develop the ability to stay positive. Like anything else, there will be ups and downs along the way. Staying positive through your downs would not only make you relax, but also helps you to become a success in the long run!

Be Committed

Commitment will determine your success in any niche. In order to succeed, you should learn to meet your commitments. Your success in MLM hugely depends on it!
